WHY VALENTINO ESPADRILLES ARE A GREAT INVESTMENT
Shoes: Valentino

Shoes: Valentino

Who doesn't love the Valentino espadrilles? But even though they're beautiful, the shoes come with a very high price tag! Is it worth investing this kind of money in a pair of espadrilles? We think it is and here is why.

1. Timeless
Just like the Valentino clothes these espadrilles are elegant and timeless. These shoes will be your go-to shoes for years and years to come.

2. Hot-buys

Valentino espadrilles have been hot-buys for a while now, one of the fastest selling items of the brand. Which means if you don't like them after a few months, you could still sell them for the same price.

3. Comfortable
The majority of espadrilles often have a harsh interior lining due to the rope-like fabric to make the shoes. The Valentino espadrilles are however very comfortable as they are made from a slim leather.

4. Whole year round
Espadrilles are not just for summer vacations and the beach, they are the perfect shoes for many occasions and you could wear them during Summer, Spring and even during warmer days in the Fall.

5. A pair for everyone
Valentino introduces espadrilles in new fabrics and colors every season. So if you're not a fan of the blue leather espadrilles like me you might love the ones in white canvas.

My New Etro Peisley Run Shoes
Suit: Armani / Shoes: Etro Paisley Run

Suit: Armani / Shoes: Etro Paisley Run

A few weeks ago and very unexpected I received a package in my house by Etro! I opened it and I couldn’t believe that inside the package was the pair of shoes that I have been obsessed with since they released them! The Paisley Run shoe! Designed as a common project between men’s and women’s collections, the Paisley Run sneakers are inspired by hiking shoes and made from jacquard fabric with a Paisley motif from the brand’s archives. I felt in love with them from the day I saw them and I can not stop wearing them! You can find them here.

Simple rules to choose the right shoe!

The last thing I want to hear again in this world is the stereotype that men do not care about shoes, or that all women do. Men have to choose thoughtfully their shoes. It's the only thing women will notice on the first date and your future boss will notice it too.

Here are some simple general rules on how to choose the right shoe with the right outfit.

1. Try to pick a shoe that matches, or is darker than your pants.

2. Although it is a safe bet, socks do not need to match your shoes. Instead, think of your socks as you would a tie - an item that can bring bring the whole outfit together.

3. If wearing a belt, try to match your shoes to it, unless of course, your belt is some multi-colored striped thing.

4. With your jeans, you can wear almost any color or style of shoe but avoid very shiny shoes that were obviously intended for more dressier outfits.  Boots, lug soles, sneakers, loafers and sandals all work great with jeans, so you may find it helpful to let the style of your shirt guide you.

5. For casual pants there are a variety of loafers, oxford and other men's shoes that work well with them. Let the ornamentation and style of the shoe guide you towards the look you're trying to achieve.

6. With dress pants, shoot for the same type of shoe that you might wear with a suit. Shinier materials usually indicate a dressier shoe, as do less bulky heels and soles. Choose a shoe that is the same color or darker than your pants, and if wearing a belt, match your shoes to it.

Color matching is a big deal too. Below you will find my 4 simple tips on how to color match your outfit with your shoes. Follow them, dress up and impress!

i) Black shoes work well with navy, grey or black pants.

ii) Brown shoes are best suited to tan, brown, beige, greens, other darker earth tones.

iii) Burgundy shoes work well with khaki, lighter browns, blue and grey.

iv) Tan shoes look great with lighter earth tones, blue, beige, lighter tan or white.

We got impressed by this shoe design!
Alberto Guaridani_SS18_ONESOUL (3).jpg

A leisurely stroll along the Adriatic coastline, shortly after the spring equinox. This is the concept behind Alberto Guardiani’s Spring/Summer 2018 collection for men, where the muse for this season is the , who saunters down the promenade, inspired by the brilliant colours and dynamic architectural contrasts. Beneath an intense blue sky, rows of coloured umbrellas and boats with imaginative names sit waiting for summer to return, against a backdrop of blue and white beach huts and monumental, pastel-coloured buildings.

A collection that reflects the laid-back attitude of the Italian holiday look: contrasting white calf and blue suede (navy, yes, but also royal blue, cerulean and ultramarine) become the leitmotif of the collection, offset by sailor-style detailing, like stripy prints and FRRST boat-style lettering.

The striking contrast of architectural graphic elements appear on navy or cherry- coloured suede, accented with red, sky blue and even orange embroidery, for designs with a sartorial, casual finish.

This relaxed yet sombre mood is perfectly reflected in, ONESOUL, the product of the season, which has a highly tailored, relaxed look.

A day in a pair of LUDWIG REITER shoes

In 1885 Ludwig Reiter, together with his wife Anna (both originally from Bohemian Karlsbad) established their first Ludwig Reiter shoemakers workshop “auf der Wieden” in the 4th district of Vienna. By 1887 they were already supplying the K.u.K. security guards with custom-made boots and welted shoes for the Officers. This resulted in Ludwig Reiter receiving high recognition for their exceptional quality of workmanship. At that time the K.u.K. Army received shoes for their “dress” uniform, as well as Riding boots.

Ludwig Reiter currently operates around 20 of it’s own stores in Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Great Britain. Approximately 200 world class, specialised shops and boutiques in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Great Britain, Japan and the USA are selling various Ludwig Reiter products.

Ludwig Reiter is known locally as well as internationally for it’s welted shoes and for the high quality sports and ladies shoes as well as leather accessories. Around 60 employees produce about 30 000 pairs of shoes annually.

Ludwig Reiter has become an international fashion-pioneer with styles like the Trainer, the Bowling and the Maronibrater. Collaborations with designers such as Helmut Lang and Werner Baldessarini, as well as the Viennese Burgtheater, Theater an der Wien and other renowned stages were established, whose theatre and opera productions are often fitted with Ludwig Reiter shoes.

200 STEPS TO FINISHING A SHOE

A typical Ludwig Reiter shoe is made by hand. Principally, the 'shoe production' across all styles is the same: the two essential parts, the upper and the bottom sole are joined. Depending on the style however, more than 200 steps are necessary when finishing a pair of shoes.
