Ferrari 458 Speciale

Ferrari‘s much-loved 458 Italia is set to receive an unexpected upgrade as the storied Italian automotive powerhouse surprisingly revealed the upcoming 458 Speciale ahead of next month’s IAA Motor Show in Frankfurt. Designed alongside Pininfarina, the new 458 boasts aerodynamic modifications throughout its streamlined exterior while a Side Slip Angle Control system prevents slippage using torque management optimization. Furthermore, aerodynamic flaps at both the front and rear automatically adjust to balance the downforce and reduce drag as needed. Under the hood, an updated version of the automobile’s V8 4.5-liter engine is now capable of 605 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque – thus making it, according to Ferrari, its most powerful naturally-aspirated V8 engine ever as it provides 135 horsepower per liter. The 458 Speciale is not only more powerful, but also slightly faster than its predecessor, accelerating from 0 to 62 mph in around three seconds. Enjoy a look at the vehicle above and be sure to head over to Ferrari’s dedicated site for a full breakdown of its latest creation. The 458 Speciale is set to make its public debut in Frankfurt come September 10.
