Corvette Stingray HPE700

Chevrolet‘s Corvette Stingray is the latest automobile to get the Hennessey treatment with the introduction of Hennessey Performance‘s HPE700. Adding a pair of 62mm turbochargers and boosting the pressure up to 7 psi on the stock 6.2 liter LT1 V8, the upgraded Corvette is now capable of 707 horsepower and 661 pound-feet of torque – compared to the original 455 hp and 450 lb-ft – thanks to these modifications, dual turbo wastegates, twin blow-off valves, and an intercooler. Acceleration from 0 to 60 mph is now almost a full second faster – 2.9 seconds compared to 3.8 – while the car’s top speed now exceeds 210 mph. Available as a six-speed automatic or with a seven-speed manual gearbox, the HPE700 will start around $120,000 USD – a bargain considering its performance is on par with the likes of the Lamborghini Aventador and McLaren MP4-12C – as Hennessey plans to produce 24 models for 2014.
