Lucid Stead Transparent Cabin

Having been commissioned to create more than a dozen public art displays over the last five years in various cities throughout the United States, Phillip K. Smith III debuts his latest installation titled the Lucid Stead Transparent Cabin. Traveling to a remote area in Joshua Tree, California, the burgeoning artist manipulates the facade of an abandoned cabin to make it look transparent through the use of mirrors. What’s more, Smith incorporates LED lighting into his piece as a way to ““extract the distilled experience of how light changes over time — how a mountain out here can be blue, red, brown, white, purple, and black all in one day.”
