BMW 4 Series Convertible 2014

Leading up to the official debut of its brand new 2014 4 Series Convertible at the Los Angeles Auto Show next month, BMW has already released some gorgeous shots of this topless beauty. Essentially a hardtop convertible version of the new 2014 BMW 4 Series coupe, this model will be offered in the United States in the same 428i and 435i guises — with prices starting at $49,675 and $55,825 USD respectively.

The 428i comes with a turbocharged 2.0 liter inline four-cylinder engine producing 240 horsepower and 255 pound-feet of torque, and reportedly sprints to 60mph in around 6.2 seconds. The 435i packs a 3.0 liter twin-turbocharged inline-six that produces 300 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque which can do 0-60mph in 5.5 seconds. Both have eight-speed automatic transmissions and electrically-limited top speeds of 155mph. However, the 428i will be available as either a rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive while the 435i will only come with rear-wheel drive. This car effectively replaces the 3 Series Convertible, except with improved retractable roof design and build, reduced wind noise, lower suspension for a sportier drive and better fuel efficiency. It’s scheduled for BMW showrooms in the first quarter of 2014.
